ERMIONE PENDANT
The pomegranate tree is a well-known tree in ancient Greece. Homer in the Odyssey refers to it and both Pliny and Hippocrates recognized the medicinal value of the pomegranate and called it a “wonderful fruit”, mentioning that the plant was already cultivated in the gardens of King Alcinous. Since ancient times, its skin has been used in medicine.
Dressed with a diamond hidden in its corolla, our Ermione pomegranate has a heart set with flamboyant rubies and a body in red gold, delicately hammered to reproduce the shapes of its skin and its slightly coppery color.

Although known and cultivated for more than 4000 years throughout the Middle East, it was the goddess Aphrodite who linked her name to the origin of the fruit, and as legend has it, herself planted the first pomegranate in Cyprus. We also find references to the pomegranate in Egyptian papyri, but also in Persian mythology and even in distant China.
Delicately half-open, our Ermione reveals her ruby flesh; sensual and radiant, it carries within itself the symbol of original blood, fertility and prosperity.
